asp.net global.asax application_start not firing

Try  change Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) event to

Application_OnStart(object sender, EventArgs e)

OR


add the below code snipped to the web.config

   < system.webServer>
     < modules runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests="true"/>
   < /system.webServer>
