The "Base" field gets generated when creating currency fields automatically. It stores the value corresponding to the base currency set in the system settings. This field can't be removed.

When you´re creating money fields a "Base" value field will be added by default. "Base" field values will contain value in base currency in the system, while your money fields can contain values for selected currency.
